 The story goes that this album was recorded in a bakery, a nunnery, a magic shop, and in a church…Fake or reality? Well, for sure, it talks about church stuff, since they call on St. Peter’s name, several times, in the number one single *Viva La Vida*, which also gives the title to Coldplay’s last job in the music field. The title has a double one, in that it is called *Viva La Vida* or *Death and All His Friends*, with the first single being a mellow mushy song entitled *Violet Hill*. One thing for sure is that the Band has been nominated for 4 gongs at the American Music Awards, which will take place on November 23, 2008, in the Nokia Theater in
Los Angeles, Ca.: Favorite Artist in the Alternative Rock Category, Favorite Band Duo or Group, Favorite Album in the Rock/Pop category, Artist of the Year! The third single *Lost*, which has not come out yet (at the time of writing), is good, but does not have that catchy uptempo energy of *Viva La Vida*. Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jon Buckland, and Will Champion, have done wonders on VIVA LA VIDA, also with some support by Brian Eno. Other tracks worthwhile mentioning are *Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love* and *Strawberry Swing*, the first with lots of good guitar riffs—a track that has two in one with interesting tunes, the second having Scottish influences, with a cool uptempo beat. |
| Si dice che questo album sia stato registrato in un forno, in un monastero di suore, in un negozio di magia, ed in una chiesa…Vero o falso? Di sicuro, ha dei riferimenti di chiesa, in quanto chiamano spesso il nome di San Pietro nel singolo numero 1, *Viva La Vida*, singolo che da anche il titolo all’ultimo lavoro musicale di Coldplay. IL primo singolo *Violet Hill* non ha riscosso molto successo, forse per la monotonia del brano? Di sicuro la Band sta riscuotendo un successo strepitoso per il generale andamento dell’album (diciamo anche per via di *Viva La Vida*!), al punto di avere ben quattro nomine per the American Music Awards che avra’ luogo il 23 Novembre 2008, nel Nokia Theater, a Los Angeles! IL terzo singolo, che non e’ ancora in uscita (al tempo di scrittura di questa mia recensione), *Lost*, ha un buon suono ma non ha quello stesso ritmo pieno di energia sentito in *Viva La Vida*. I quattro componenti della Band, hanno lavorato molto bene sull’album, producendo un ottimo lavoro, anche con un po’ di supporto del bravo Briano Eno. Altri brani degni di merito sono *Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love* and *Strawberry Swing*, il primo con degli ottimi riffs di chitarra—un pezzo che sembra diviso in due parti, come se fossero due canzoni, il secondo, avente delle influenze Scozzesi, con un beat molto uptempo ed andante.2008.10.17 (Fri.—km*) |
